Welding laboratory PROMTEHMONTAZH JSC is accredited in the national systems of the Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation and carries out quality control of welded joints, base metal for compliance with technical requirements in the manufacture, installation and repair of specific types of products and structures using modern equipment.</p >

The welding laboratory also carries out work on heat treatment, preliminary and concomitant heating of welded joints.

On the basis of the department of the chief welder and the welding laboratory and on the basis of permits No. 11-02-007-2020 issued by the Department for Supervision of Safe Work in Industry (GOSPROMNADZOR), No. 12-08-04 / 006k-2018 issued by RUE «STROYTEKHNORM» there is a permanent commission for certification of welders for the following types of welding:

1) manual arc welding with coated electrodes;

2) manual arc welding with a non-consumable electrode in an inert gas environment;

3) mechanized welding in shielding gases;

4) automated submerged arc welding.

Accreditation certificate No. BY/112 2.0181 dated 01.29.1996 issued by Republican Unitary Enterprise "Belarusian State Accreditation Center" (State Enterprise «BSCA») and regulates the quality of measurements and tests on the territory of the Republic of Belarus.

Types of control, according to the accreditation certificate:

1) visual and measuring control;

2) X-ray flaw detection;

3) ultrasonic flaw detection:

— echo – method;

— time-diffraction method (TOFD-method).

4) ultrasonic thickness measurement;

5) penetrant control:

—  capillary (color) flaw detection;

—  leak detection (bubble method);

6) hardness measurement;

7) mechanical tests:

—  static tensile testing;

—  static bending test;

—  impact test;

8) analysis of the chemical composition of metals:

—  X-ray fluorescence method.

List of technical devices according to the accreditation certificate:

1) pressurized equipment:

— pressure vessels and apparatus;

— steam and hot water boilers, pipelines within the boiler;

— steam and hot water pipelines, heating networks;


2) lifting cranes and mechanisms, attractions, lifting devices, containers;


3) process equipment and process pipelines, chemical production equipment;


4) objects of the gas distribution system and gas consumption, gas pipelines;


5) storage tanks for oil and oil products, chemicals, bulk products and other substances;


6) metal structures;


7) main pipelines;


8) equipment and pipelines of nuclear power plants;


9) reinforced concrete structures;


10) samples of welded joints.



Certificate  about  certification  issued by an independent body  by  certification  laboratories  non-destructive  control «SertiNK» FGAU «NUTSSK at MSTU im. N.E. Bauman» No. 61A000699  and regulates the work on the control of welded joints on the territory of the Russian Federation.

Types of control, according to the accreditation certificate:

1) radiographic control;

2) ultrasonic flaw detection;

3) ultrasonic thickness measurement;

4) visual and measuring control.

List of technical devices according to the accreditation certificate:

1) equipment for explosive and chemically hazardous industries:

—  tanks for storing explosive and toxic substances;

—  technological pipelines, steam and hot water pipelines.

2) buildings and structures (building structures):

—  metal structures.


Welding laboratory of JSC "PROMTEHMONTAZH" is equipped with modern equipment and has qualified specialists. Between 2019 and 2020 specialists of the welding laboratory mastered and introduced a new technology of non-destructive testing: diffraction — temporary TOFD method.


This method was successfully applied during the construction of Mozyr Oil Refinery OJSC   (technological pipelines, oil pipelines), JSC "Slutsk Sugar Refinery" (reservoirs for storing oil and oil products, chemicals, bulk products and other substances).

In the world practice, in the construction of highly complex facilities, to replace the radiographic inspection method without losing the quality of inspection, the innovative standardized time-diffraction method (TOFD), which is a variation of the ultrasonic inspection method with results recording, is successfully used. When testing by this method, the entire welded joint, including the weld root, is clearly visible. This control method provides a complete visualization of the presence of defects in the weld, which, like the radiographic method, allows you to clearly see the orientation and nature of defects in the weld and determine the final result of the quality of the weld.
